Ok… I have a thing for purple and black flies and jigs.
One reason for that is, that when your flies or lures dive deep and the light fades – blue, purple and black are the last colors to disappear. They are visible in deep water, in stained water and in the dim light at dusk and dawn.
This is the same color scheme that I used in my Loopy Leech and the Nightwatchman – both killer patterns for large trout, pike and other predators.
The main material in all of these flies is my own Woolly Sparkle Dub in Midnight Purple. You can use whatever you have in the right color.
But if you want to try out the real deal, you can find a link further down in the description.
Tight lines :0) Michael

I just came across your website. I have watched a few of your fly tying vids. Just letting you know I enjoyed watching you tie as well as your perspectives on using the flies. For example, why you use certain colors, as well as the fun side of using bigger colorful flies for big trout.
