About Michael Jensen


Michael Jensen is an outdoor writer, angler and photographer. He lives in Denmark and travels all over Scandinavia – camping, canoeing and fishing for anything with fins. He is the author of more than 20 books on outdoor sports – most of these are fly fishing books and currently primarily available in Danish, Swedish and Norwegian language.


Michael’s latest book, Tying and fishing the Booby Fly, is an English language release, and is available in iBook format as well as an Amazon Kindle Book version.

    Hello Mike. I saw your post on the STH cassette reels …and the comments on the SAGE RPL rods and have to admit I agree 100% with everything in those posts. I have four STH reels and have been happy with all of them. It’s amazing to me that they did not receive greater endorsement in the marketplace for they were: (a) low priced, (b) versatile, (c) light weight, and (d) great for long trips where overall weight and space are an issue. The cassettes are very light weight, so carrying an additional spool of line is only slightly heavier than carrying the line by itself. The only criticism I have would be in regard to the oversensitive drag on the small reels.

      Hi Richard,
      Thanks for your response. I actually have vacuumed 2 more off these old reels up after acquiring that first one. They offer great value and versatility.
